Acadia: Q2 Earnings Snapshot

SAN DIEGO (AP) _ Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ACAD) on Monday reported a loss of $34 million in its second quarter.

The San Diego-based company said it had a loss of 21 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 25 cents per share.

The drugmaker posted revenue of $134.6 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $130.9 million.

Acadia shares have dropped 29% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $16.62, a decrease of 13% in the last 12 months.
